As a professional photographer in Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, I specialize in artistic family beach portraits and scenic photographs of Cape Cod.
My interest in photography began when I was a liberal arts student in Michigan. After a Photography 101 course, I signed up for every photography class I could fit in. I continued my studies at the Germain School of Photography in NYC with the goal of a career in photography. But upon completion, I seized an opportunity to work at the United Nations which eventually took me towards a graduate business degree and a marketing career in greater Boston.
Since settling in Falmouth near Woods Hole with my husband in 2004, I've been gratefully living my earlier dream. One of my greatest joys as a portrait photographer is creating artistic wall portraits of families at locations that hold a special place in their hearts… and seeing their eyes light up with pride when viewing their commissioned works of art. Whether it's Mom, Dad and children strolling hand-in-hand on the beach, siblings hugging, or cousins jumping for joy, I enjoy capturing the essence of loved ones relating to one another, and to Cape Cod. As a photographic artist, I am inspired to capture the feeling of being at peace with nature, with loved ones, and with oneself.
Besides photography, I enjoy classical and folk music. I've sung with choral groups ever since I can remember. I am also an amateur genealogist which drives me to create family portraits of the highest quality that I know will be cherished for generations.
An active member of Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts and Professional Photographers of Cape Cod, I stay abreast of new image capture and retouching techniques through seminars hosted by these associations and the New England Institute of Professional Photography. I am also a Juried Artist Member of the Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable, and a member of the Falmouth Artists Guild. My works of art have been accepted into all juried shows entered. Many have won awards, including Best Color and First Place.
